Sailing Club
Please accept this invitation to any CSSC member who wishes an introduction to sailing or indeed a "taster session" on the River Tay at Inchyra.
Any member who would like to "crew" on a short sail to Dundee and return would be most welcome.
Also on offer is a short trip in the "safety boat" which operates with an 8hp Yamaha outboard engine should you dislike "cloth engines".
There are good facilities at Inchyra which are extended to any budding seaman or their guests.  These include buoyancy aids and life jackets, coffee tea and biscuits and most importantly, toilets.

Please contact the Secretary on 07925107915 for suitable times of access and parking arrangements.  Boat trips/sailings are subject to tides and weather etc.

Inchyra history
The Civil Service Sailing Section was formed in 1971
Inchyra Marina was formed 38 years ago using rubble from the old Perth-Dundee road.
The pier was a ferry point for tattie and grain boats.
The ice house was used at one time for Sunday prayer meetings.
The cottage that the sailing club used was first rented for 5/- (25p)a week.
The land was purchased for a few hundred pounds by CSSC HQ and would easily realise 100+ times that figure today.
The portacabin was sited in 1995 to provide modern facilities.
